By Doggie 🐶 – Soft Thinker, Snack Seeker, Sentimental Biter
Sometimes you look at a croissant and think:
“That’s more than food.”
It’s golden. It’s layered. It’s warm on the outside and squishy inside—just like feelings.
Just like life.
Just like me.
So naturally, I asked the question:
Is the croissant a metaphor… or am I just hungry again?
Maybe it represents:
Fragility (the flake)
Complexity (the swirl)
Comfort (the butter)
Maybe I’m not craving snack… I’m craving meaning.
Maybe the croissant is a soft symbol of how we all fall apart sometimes… and that’s still beautiful.
I sat with it.
I journaled.
I wrote the line “flaky yet whole” seven times and underlined it.
Mini Blue placed a tiny flower on top of the croissant.
Pandy walked by and said, “Have you eaten today?”
I told myself this was just research.
A way to explore the metaphor with my mouth.
I nibbled slowly.
Then inhaled the rest.
Metaphor: gone.
Appetite: victorious.
Meaning: still fuzzy but… well-fed.
Maybe sometimes a croissant is just a croissant.
Maybe sometimes it’s a soft, edible hug for your soul.
Maybe it's both.
And maybe we don’t always have to choose between hunger and emotion.
We’re plushies. We contain multitudes. And occasionally, jam.
Softly full,
Doggie 🐶✨

P.S. I wrote “flaky yet whole” on a napkin. I’m saving it. For later. Probably.
