By Doggie š¶ ā Soft Thinker, Snack Seeker, Sentimental Biter
Sometimes you look at a croissant and think:
āThatās more than food.ā
Itās golden. Itās layered. Itās warm on the outside and squishy insideājust like feelings.
Just like life.
Just like me.
So naturally, I asked the question:
Is the croissant a metaphor⦠or am I just hungry again?
Maybe it represents:
Fragility (the flake)
Complexity (the swirl)
Comfort (the butter)
Maybe Iām not craving snack⦠Iām craving meaning.
Maybe the croissant is a soft symbol of how we all fall apart sometimes⦠and thatās still beautiful.
I sat with it.
I journaled.
I wrote the line āflaky yet wholeā seven times and underlined it.
Mini Blue placed a tiny flower on top of the croissant.
Pandy walked by and said, āHave you eaten today?ā
I told myself this was just research.
A way to explore the metaphor with my mouth.
I nibbled slowly.
Then inhaled the rest.
Metaphor: gone.
Appetite: victorious.
Meaning: still fuzzy but⦠well-fed.
Maybe sometimes a croissant is just a croissant.
Maybe sometimes itās a soft, edible hug for your soul.
Maybe it's both.
And maybe we donāt always have to choose between hunger and emotion.
Weāre plushies. We contain multitudes. And occasionally, jam.
Softly full,

P.S. I wrote āflaky yet wholeā on a napkin. Iām saving it. For later. Probably.
