Prezzies from the Heart: Doggie’s Guide to Thoughtful Giving
By Doggie (Gift-Giving Expert, Certified Tape Tangler)
Hi friends! 🐾
Today we’re talking about one of my favorite things in the world—prezzies. Giving them. Wrapping them. Watching someone’s face light up when they open them. Or yelp in surprise when confetti pops out. (That was only one time. Pandy’s still recovering.)
If you ask me, giving the right gift is an art form—and I, Doggie, am an artiste. Here’s my guide to giving thoughtful gifts that say: “I see you, I love you, and yes, I brought snacks.”
Ask yourself the big questions:
What makes them smile?
What do they reach for first in the snack drawer?
What’s their love language—words, gifts, quality time, or surprise mini tacos?
🎁 Example: For Pandy, I know he loves tea, books, and tidy spaces. So I once gave him a tiny vacuum with googly eyes. He named it “Sir Sucksworth.” He was... touched.
Add a handmade touch or something uniquely “you.” Whether it’s a drawing, a note, or a haiku written in ketchup, the thoughtfulness is what counts.
🎁 Doggie Tip: One year I gave Pandy a jar labeled “Reasons You’re the Best.” Inside were 20 handwritten notes. And one accidentally included grocery doodles. Still heartfelt.
Crinkly paper. Fun ribbon. Stickers. Or, in my case, whatever was nearby (once I used a napkin and a twist tie). The wrapping is part of the excitement!
🎁 Doggie Reality Check: I always get stuck in the tape. Always.
Don’t just toss the gift and run (unless it’s a glitter bomb, then yes, RUN). Presentation can be part of the magic.
🎁 Try:
Hiding it and leaving clues
Presenting it during a tea party
Dramatic entrance with a paper crown and trumpet noise (highly recommend)
I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true. A warm hug, shared laughter, or helping a friend clean their plushie shelf (cough Pandy’s still working on that one) can be more meaningful than any box or bow.
But, you know… snacks never hurt.
Thoughtful giving isn’t about the size or the price—it’s about noticing, caring, and showing up with a full heart (and maybe a tiny plushie accessory). So go on, friends—spread those prezzies from the heart. Wrap them in love, tape, and just a little mischief.
Happy giving,
Doggie 🐾🎁
P.S. If you need help wrapping your next prezzie, I’m available for consultations. Bring extra tape. And snacks.
