Paw-sitive Vibes Only: Our New Year’s Goals (and How Long We Lasted)
By Doggie (Optimist, Snack Enthusiast, Occasional Goal-Forgetter)
Hi friends—Doggie here again, fresh from the snow and ready to reflect. After all the holiday cheer and pie-induced naps, Pandy and I sat down on New Year’s Day to write our official plushie goals for the year.
We had big dreams. Bold plans. A whole pack of color-coded stickers. And we did our best… for at least three days.
Here’s what we planned, and how it actually went:
What We Said: “Let’s take daily walks around the neighborhood!”
What Happened: We walked… to the kitchen. For snacks. Repeatedly.
Result: Our paws are strong, but mostly from opening the snack drawer.
What We Said: “Let’s explore, create, and expand our plushie horizons!”
What Happened: Week one: built a blanket fort.
Week two: learned how not to use glitter glue.
Week three: forgot the plan and binged cozy mystery shows.
Result: Technically, trying new shows counts… right?
What We Said: “A tidy space is a tidy mind.” –Pandy
What Happened: I found a snack from Halloween 2022 and ate it.
Result: Pandy stopped speaking to me for ten minutes.
What We Said: “Let’s document our days like poetic plushies.”
What Happened:
Jan 1: “Dear Journal, today was hopeful!”
Jan 3: “Dear Journal, forgot to write yesterday.”
Jan 4: “Dear Journal, where did you go?”
Result: We’re calling it “spontaneous journaling.”
What We Said: “Let’s keep sharing stories, laughter, and prezzie-worthy positivity.”
What Happened: Ongoing mission. Every blog, every hug, every goofy post—we’re doing it.
Result: 10/10 would recommend.
Sometimes goals evolve. Sometimes you fall asleep on top of them. And that’s okay. The important part is to keep trying, keep laughing, and keep being your wonderfully plushie self.
So here’s to a new year filled with progress, plateaus, and plenty of snacks. If you made goals and forgot them already—same. Let’s try again tomorrow. Or next week. Or maybe after a nap.
Paw-sitively yours,
Doggie 🐾
P.S. Pandy did make a spreadsheet to track our “progress.” I drew a smiley face on it. We both felt better.
