Pi Day Pie-Off: I Ate 3.14 Slices… Maybe More
By Doggie (Snack Strategist, Amateur Mathematician, Pie Fanatic)
Hi friends! Doggie here—reporting in from a post-pie nap and proudly wearing my honorary “Pi-rate” hat (yes, it has a little π symbol on it, and yes, I did eat a crumb off it).
March 14th, also known as Pi Day (3.14!), is the plushiest holiday you never knew you needed. It celebrates the mathematical constant π… but let’s be honest—we’re all here for the pie.
So Pandy and I threw our own Plushie Pi Day Pie-Off, and it was legendairy. Here’s how it all went down:
I woke up early, made a pie chart of all the pies I wanted to try (apple, cherry, chocolate cream, mystery flavor), and taped it to the fridge.
Pandy said it was “a lot for breakfast.”
I said, “It’s math.”
Pandy prepped a lovely apple tart with a decorative lattice. I attempted a mini key lime pie with a graham cracker crust.
Mini Blue supervised. And by supervised, I mean he napped next to the rolling pin.
We lined up our creations, plus a few store-bought backups (we’re realistic plushies).
Judging categories included:
Crust crunchiness
Flavor power
“Face excitement per bite” (my idea)
Doggie’s Picks:
Chocolate silk: smooth, dreamy, slightly distracting
Banana cream: surprisingly emotional
Pumpkin: nostalgic and cozy
Pandy’s Picks:
Apple tart: “balanced and harmonious”
Lemon meringue: “bold, with a philosophical citrus finish”
Sweet potato: “underrated, like a wise cardigan”
We reclined dramatically on the couch, crumbs everywhere.
Mini Blue changed color three times: yellow (excitement), green (suspicion over mystery pie), and blue (contentment).
I declared: “This is what π was invented for.”
Pandy said that’s not how math works. I said: “Exactly.”
Pie is love.
Sharing snacks is peak friendship.
Pi is irrational, and so is my appetite.
Whether you love math or just love munchies, Pi Day is a sweet reminder that even the most complex things in life can be enjoyed one bite at a time.
Until next time, stay crusty (in a good way),
Doggie 🐾🥧
P.S. I may have eaten 3.14 slices. Or maybe 5.89. Who’s counting? (Not me. I’m still chewing.)
