By Doggie – Certified Crumb Romantic, Emotional Snack Theorist
Everyone expresses love differently.
Some with words. Some with hugs.
I express love by handing you half a cookie I really wanted to keep.
Inspired by classic love language theory—and several heart-shaped snack packs—I’ve reimagined the five love languages through a plushie lens.
Because sometimes, snacks say what words cannot.
“You’re the only one I’d share my last cheese puff with.”
“Your crunch is majestic.”
“You smell like toasted marshmallow and stability.”
Sincere snack compliments = emotional gourmet.
Mini Blue once turned pink when I told them their presence was more soothing than a warm biscuit.
That’s real love.
Love is unsealing the tricky chip bag for someone else.
Love is wiping the chocolate off the wrapper so they don’t get sticky paws.
Love is toasting the Pop-Tart just right.
Pandy excels at this. He once de-seeded a pomegranate for me. I proposed.
Nothing says “I thought of you” like showing up with a muffin.
Or gently placing a gummy on someone’s pillow like a squishy mint of affection.
Even one saved bite—slightly smooshed but deeply heartfelt—counts.
This one’s sacred.
You’re not just eating with someone—you’re choosing to crunch in harmony.
To dip without double-dipping.
To wait when they’re still chewing because the next fry is long and dramatic.
Snack synchrony is soul stuff.
Sometimes love is messy.
Sometimes it’s gooey.
Sometimes it’s being okay with peanut butter on someone’s paw because they’re your peanut butter person.
(Or plushie. Or octopus. Love is flexible.)
However you snack it—love is about sharing.
Sharing moments. Sharing warmth. Sharing cheese.
And maybe saving the last bite… even if you really, really don’t want to.
Crumbingly yours,
Doggie 🐶❤️🍩
P.S. I made Pandy a tiny tea-and-biscuit care kit after writing this. He said nothing, but he smiled. Success.
