Snacks for the Season: Fall-Inspired Treats for Plushies and Humans
Hi friends! Doggie here, ready to talk about one of my favorite subjects: snacks! 🐾🍂 Now that fall is in full swing, it’s the perfect time to cozy up and enjoy some seasonal treats. Whether you’re a plushie like me or a human with a big appetite, I’ve got a list of fun, tasty ideas that are sure to make your autumn extra delicious.
Who doesn’t love caramel apples? They’re a fall classic! But let’s be honest, the whole apple can be a bit tricky to eat when you’re plushie-sized. Solution? Caramel apple slices! Just cut the apple into wedges, drizzle them with caramel, and sprinkle on some crushed nuts or chocolate chips. Pandy says it’s a "classy" treat—I say it’s simply yummy!
Popcorn is always a game-day favorite, but why not give it a fall twist? Sprinkle your popcorn with a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a little sugar. For humans, a dash of melted butter helps the spices stick. For plushies like me, the buttery smell is enough to make me swoon!
Pandy introduced me to these, and wow—they’re paw-some! Toss pecans with a bit of maple syrup and a pinch of salt, then roast them in the oven until they’re toasty and golden. They’re the perfect snack for crunching while you watch the leaves fall (or the Niners score touchdowns).
Swap out regular chips for something a little more seasonal. Slice sweet potatoes thinly, toss them with a bit of olive oil and your favorite seasoning (I like cinnamon sugar, but Pandy’s all about sea salt), and bake them until crispy. These are plushie-approved for both snacks and couch potato-ing!
This one’s for the humans! Scoop vanilla ice cream into a glass and pour warm apple cider over it for a cozy, creamy treat. Pandy tried to convince me to share his, but I was too busy enjoying the sweet smell wafting from the glass. (I settled for a sip and a sniff.)
Pumpkin pie is a fall staple, but why not make it plushie-friendly? Use a muffin tin to bake tiny pies that are just the right size for us plushies. Humans can whip up some fresh whipped cream to top them off, and plushies can admire how cute they look before sneaking a bite.
All you need are apples, cinnamon, and a little patience! Thinly slice apples, sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake them low and slow until they’re crisp. They’re perfect for munching on during a fall walk or a cozy movie night.
Okay, this might not be a “snack,” but I’m including it anyway. Add a pinch of cinnamon and a drizzle of caramel to your hot cocoa for a fall-inspired upgrade. Pandy likes to add marshmallows shaped like leaves, which I think is adorable (and tasty).
Pandy always reminds me to mention this—make sure your plushie snacks are safe for plushie consumption! Avoid anything too sticky or crumbly to keep our fur and stuffing looking fabulous.
Fall is all about enjoying the flavors of the season, and I hope these ideas inspire you to get snacking! If you have any favorite fall treats, let me know—I’m always looking for new ideas to try (and share with Pandy). Until next time, stay cozy and keep snacking!
Happy munching,
Doggie 🐾
P.S. Pandy says we should try baking next weekend. Do you think plushies can handle flour? Stay tuned!
