Everyone talks about love languages.
Thereās a whole list: words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts, quality time, physical touch.
But plushies? Weāve got our own version.
See, we donāt always speak with words (unless weāre writing blog posts like this one). But weāve got our ways. You just have to notice the soft stuff.
So hereās how we show we careāplushie-style.
Not just any snack. Your favorite snack.
Like when I saved the last cookie for Pandy (okay, half a cookie⦠okay, a bite, but the thought was full-sized). Or when Mini Blue nudged a trail mix raisin toward me, even though they love raisins. Thatās plushie generosity.
Offering snacks = offering love.
Sharing snacks = trusting someone with joy.
Saving snacks = true friendship. (And maybe future snacking.)
Sometimes, the most powerful thing in the world is a quiet, smushy flop.
No words. No rush. Just being warm and close and exactly where youāre supposed to be. Iāve learned that when Mini Blue climbs into my hoodie pouch, or when Pandy leans against me during a storm, thatās their way of saying:
āYou matter. Youāre safe. Iām here.ā
I donāt always need a speech. Just a head nudge.
This oneās subtle. Sneaky, even.
Itās when someone doesnāt interrupt your moodābut still wants to be close. Itās the calm presence of Pandy sitting three paw-lengths away with his tea, letting me work out my cookie philosophy crisis without judgment.
Itās Mini Blue silently placing a crayon in my paw when Iām creatively stuck.
Itās love that doesnāt try to fix or fuss. Just sits. Stays. Steadies.
You might be a snacker. Or a quiet sitter. Or a champion cuddle monster.
Whatever it isājust know this:
You donāt have to say I love you the loudest to mean it the most.
Sometimes, you just need to share your popcorn. Or your silence. Or your squishy spot on the couch.
Thatās enough.
Thatās love.
