Pandy is calm.
Like, suspiciously calm.
You could tell him the couch is on fire and he’d say,
“Let’s go get a damp towel.”
You could bounce on the bed yelling “WE’RE OUT OF COOKIES!”
and he’d sip his tea and say,
“I saw this coming.”
And don’t get me wrong—I love him. I really do.
But sometimes? You need a manual.
So here it is:
If Pandy offers you tea, take it.
It’s not just hydration. It’s his way of saying:
“You’re a lot right now. Let’s steep this chaos.”
You don’t have to drink it right away.
Just holding the warm mug usually helps slow your tail down.
Pandy’s version of a good time is sitting in a sunbeam thinking about clouds.
Just because he’s not bouncing doesn’t mean he’s not having fun.
Let him be still. He’s recharging his inner panda battery.
(Plus, that’s when he comes up with the best advice and snack plans.)
You can't ambush Pandy with a glitter cannon.
You have to invite him to the party with gentle escalation.
Example:
“Hey Pandy, want to see something mildly unusual?”
→ “Want to help me test this experimental popcorn launcher?”
By the time he realizes what's happening, he’s already wearing safety goggles and laughing.
Even the calmest panda can be swayed by a well-timed berry tart.
It’s science.
My personal ratio:
3 parts patience
1 part snack bribe
Infinite parts bestie loyalty
Pandy might be calm, but he’s never boring.
He’s the anchor to my sail. The steam to my kettle.
The reason I have slightly fewer injuries per day.
So if your best friend is too calm?
Love them anyway.
Learn their rhythms.
And always, always offer snacks with your shenanigans.
