By Doggie, Chief Explorer, Snack Inspector, and Hoodie Enthusiast
Hello my dear readers, friends, snack scholars, and fellow plushies!
It is I, Doggie, returning triumphantly from my whirlwind solo expedition to Portland, Oregon. Yes, I traveled alone this time. Without Pandy’s very sensible checklists. Without Mini Blue’s color-coded emotional feedback. Just me, my bravery, my snacks, and my red hoodie flapping majestically in the Pacific Northwest breeze.
Below are my field notes from this extremely scientific journey.
As soon as I arrived, I made a very important discovery:
Portland doughnuts are bigger than my entire head.
I walked out carrying a giant pink box that nearly toppled me over (in a heroic way).
A donut with fruity cereal balanced on top like a sugary crown.
10/10. Would sugar-coma again.
Forest Park is full of trees so tall they made me feel like a tiny crouton in a giant nature salad.
I wore my very tiny backpack filled with essential items:
Snacks
Backup snacks
Emotional support backup-backup snacks
I strutted under the mossy branches feeling like a Serious Outdoorsman™. A squirrel watched me do my hike power-walk. I believe I impressed it.
At a Portland food truck pod, I ordered a bao the size of my whole head.
It steamed gently in the evening air like a little pillow of destiny.
String lights twinkled overhead. Tables creaked. People laughed.
And I, Doggie, became one with the bao.
I felt changed afterward.
Possibly enlightened.
The cherry blossoms danced in the air like gentle pink confetti tossed by spring itself.
I looked up, paws outstretched, and whispered something profound like:
“Woooooow… pretty.”
I briefly considered becoming a cherry blossom influencer.
Still thinking about it.
Inside the café, everyone had:
A laptop
Thick glasses
Opinions about pour-over technique
I ordered a fancy latte with paw print foam art.
I almost cried. It was so vibey I ascended spiritually for a moment.
When I came back down, I drank the whole thing in three gulps.
Hair floofed by wind.
Bridge majestic.
Doggie main-charactering extremely hard.
I found a mini light-up Christmas tree that glitters like a thousand tiny snowglobes.
I saw it.
It saw me.
We connected spiritually.
I am now the proud father of this tree.
A gentle, slightly overwhelmed perspective from Pandy himself.
Hello. Pandy here.
Doggie asked if I would contribute a few thoughts after reviewing his “haul.”
I have… several.
I’m not sure donuts should have that many colors at once. But Doggie seems uninjured, so I’m relieved.
I am proud of Doggie for preparing responsibly.
I am less proud to learn all compartments contained snacks.
Why is it that big?
Why was it given to a plush child?
Why did Doggie eat it unsupervised?
Beautiful foam art.
Doggie should not be allowed caffeine.
Lovely.
Doggie describes this moment as “becoming a petal,” which I do not fully understand, but I support him emotionally.
A very tasteful souvenir.
I approve.
This is actually charming.
It will live on our shelf.
I will dust it weekly.
Doggie must not attempt to open it “to see where the sparkles live.”
I am relieved Doggie is home.
I am proud he had an adventure.
I am… mildly concerned by the volume of food items.
But most of all:
I am happy he enjoyed himself.
(P.S. Next time, I am coming with him.)
Portland is:
Snacky
Mossy
Vibey
Pink-box-heavy
Full of spots where the wind makes you feel heroic
Okay my dear friends, plushies, hoomans, snack enthusiasts, and sparkle appreciators —
This concludes my Very Important, Very Official Portland Adventure Report.
Thank you for traveling with me through doughnuts, moss, vibes, wind, blossoms, and unexpected glittery treasures.
I had the best time. I missed Pandy’s sensible commentary and Mini Blue’s mood-color updates, but doing a big adventure all by myself made my heart feel three sizes fluffier.
I hope my stories made your heart feel a little bit cozy, a little bit wiggly, and maybe even a little bit snacky.
If you ever find yourself on your own adventure — big or small, mossy or sparkly — remember this Doggie Wisdom:
Take the snack, smell the trees, follow the twinkles, and always keep your paws open for surprise prezzies.
I’ll be back soon with more mischief, more discoveries, and probably
more things Pandy will have Opinions™ about.
Until then —
Stay fluffy, stay curious, and don’t forget to wiggle your tail at least once today.
Love,
Doggie 🐾
