A steeped and thoughtful blog post by Doggie, who was mostly there for the snacks.
Today’s adventure was less run-around-and-leap and more inhale-deeply-and-sip-slowly.
Pandy declared, “We’re making our own tea blends.”
I nodded like I understood. Then whispered to Mini Blue, “What if we steep a cookie?”
Mini Blue pulsed gentle lavender. Translation: “Let’s just try it Pandy’s way first.”
Pandy laid out the tea tools like a plushie apothecary:
Bowls of herbs, flowers, and dried fruit.
A hand-drawn tea wheel (with categories like "calming," "zesty," and "sniffly comfort").
One ceramic teapot that looked like it had opinions.
He lit a tiny plush-safe candle. “Scent is part of the ceremony,” he explained.
I accidentally sneezed it out. Pandy relit it, without judgment.
Pandy’s Calm Clouds Blend:
Chamomile
Dried lavender
Lemon balm
One tiny mint leaf for sparkle
Mini Blue approved with a gentle blue glow.
Doggie’s Experimental ‘Snackytime’ Brew:
Cinnamon chips
Crushed freeze-dried banana
Toasted rice
One accidental cookie crumb
Pandy raised an eyebrow. “We’ll steep that one… separately.”
We poured hot water. The herbs unfurled like sleepy dancers. I watched my banana-sparkle blend swirl in suspicious directions.
Pandy tasted his Calm Clouds: “Like sipping a sunset.”
I tasted mine: “Like licking a banana chip inside a warm sock. But cozy?”
Mini Blue tasted both, turned a gentle periwinkle, and labeled them:
Pandy’s = Cloud Toast
Doggie’s = Nap Attack Deluxe
Honestly? I’d drink it again. With a cookie pairing.
Tea isn’t just leaves and steam. It’s quiet, intention, and a little imagination.
Pandy says blending tea is like composing a haiku. I say it’s like mixing potions in a cozy wizard’s kitchen.
Either way, it made the afternoon feel like a warm blanket from the inside out.
We cleaned up. We curled up.
And yes—I did steep a cookie. It disintegrated instantly. Still counts as research.
