A Thanksgiving blog post by Doggie (with Pandy and Mini Blue supervising the crumb situation)
Hello my snack-seeking sweet potatoes,
It is I, Doggie, freshly stuffed from my very first Plushgiving celebration! (Pandy says it’s “Thanksgiving,” but I maintain that if plushies are present, the holiday should adapt accordingly.)
This year, we gathered around a cozy wooden table decorated with tiny pumpkins, crunchy leaves, and string lights that made everything feel extra warm and glowy — like someone sprinkled cinnamon on reality.
Pandy wore his blue Hawaiian shirt because, quote,
“The spirit of gratitude is universal, Doggie.”
Also because he thinks long sleeves are “restrictive.”
Mini Blue showed up wearing an autumn leaf as a little hat, which made Pandy whisper, “Oh no… he’s going to want more accessories, isn’t he?”
Mini Blue just shimmered blue-orange for “festive chaos.”
Pandy made me promise not to eat everything before the “official start.”
I lasted five minutes.
On brand.
Here is my thorough culinary analysis:
Perfectly plush-sized! Crispy on the outside, cozy on the inside. Looked like it was carved by an angel. Or at least a panda with strong mitten-hands.
Pandy said, “Doggie, slow down,” but I was already inhaling my second bowl.
Mini Blue poked a potato puff and turned briefly cream-colored.
Interpretation: “Same.”
I took a bite and immediately announced it was my favorite dessert ever invented.
Pandy said I said the same thing about churros, donuts, cinnamon rolls, and airport pretzels.
This is called consistency, thank you.
This year, I am thankful for:
Pandy, who keeps me from eating decorative leaves
Mini Blue, who changes colors to match my moods and sometimes preemptively warn me
Snacks (all categories, I don’t discriminate)
Prezzies
Big sweaters
That one time Pandy let me be “Head of Hospitality” for 10 minutes
The invention of pie
The miracle of leftovers
And YOU, dear reader, for visiting my cozy corner of the internet
Pandy added:
“I am thankful for moments of stillness, shared meals, and the fact that Doggie has not climbed onto the table yet.”
Mini Blue turned a proud teal.
Because I did not climb onto the table.
(THIS TIME.)
Thanksgiving—sorry, Plushgiving—is all about togetherness, gratitude, and seeing how many times I can make Pandy sigh affectionately in one meal.
Here’s the final wisdom of the day:
A full tummy makes a full heart.
But save room for pie, just in case.
Happiest Plushgiving from me, Pandy, and Mini Blue!
May your snacks be warm, your pies be plentiful, and your friends be plush.
