By Doggie 🐶 – Sock Puppet Star, Chore Outsmart-ee, and Suspiciously Motivated
I should’ve known something was up when Pandy said:
“Hey Doggie, want to have a competition?”
I never say no to a competition. Or snacks. Or surprise party hats.
“Let’s see who can sort the most socks!” he said, holding up a basket the size of a small mountain.
My eyes narrowed.
My tail wagged.
My logic went right out the window.
I grabbed a handful of socks. Pandy grabbed a clipboard.
Mini Blue was appointed referee (with a whistle made of a dry noodle).
I was in it to win it.
Two socks in, I discovered a green stripey one that looked exactly like a dragon tail. Naturally, I turned it into a sock puppet named Gerald who breathes imaginary fire.
“Focus,” Pandy said gently, matching three more pairs without blinking.
“Oh, I am,” I replied.
Just… not on socks.
Halfway through my musical performance of “Socknado: The Laundry Storm”, I caught Pandy smiling.
“Wait a second,” I said, mid-spin.
“Is this just a sneaky way to get me to do chores?!”
He shrugged.
Mini Blue turned orange. That means amused.
Pandy: 14 pairs sorted
Me: 2 pairs, 6 sock puppets, 1 full-blown musical
Mini Blue: Now has a sock cape
Outcome:
Pandy got the laundry done.
I got a standing ovation from Gerald the dragon sock.
Lesson learned?
Never trust a panda with a clipboard.
(Unless they’re offering cookies. Then trust, but verify.)
